Literature Text
I have postponed crying for now.
I have errands to run and I need to drive.
And I'd look like a fool at the bank.
Though I think I tore the check without really trying.
I have postponed crying for now.
People are hungry and there are vegetables to chop.
And I need my eyes to be open.
Though it's not as hard as I thought to bite your tongue until it hurts.
I have postponed crying for now.
It's a busy day tomorrow and I need sleep
Though my back hurts mysteriously
And I seem to have dug my fingernails into my palms.
And I'll dream it all didn't happen.
And then wake up and know it did.
And I'll wish my eyes could stay closed.
And my pillow will be wet somehow.
But I have postponed crying for now.

Secrets
Smiles are not meant for everyone. They weren't meant to be displayed for everyone else to see. Only for those who are special enough to find a way to see that smile. If a smile were an ordinary thing for anyone to see on any person in the world, then wouldn't that mean that every one of us would constantly be smiling? But we're not. Where's the fun in that? The light airy feeling of being able to get someone to crack a smile on a usually solemn face.
A smile is like a secret between friends.

Changing Letters
I’ll not wait for you tomorrow
I’m done chasing down your sorrow
Have I not wasted all this time on you?
Signed my name to crooked lines for you?
I’m through resting in the gutters
With the past you labeled “Other”
Starting tonight I claim my total back
Without your fractioning, I do not lack
A single piece of me
I found my history
And all I ever really need is to
Walk out on your faulty venue
And start a new day with the letter
“I”
Because I’m tired of seeing “U”

branches
weeping branches
trail in the wind
like languid fingers

This is not something I've been working on for long. It's just a little poem I wrote down the other night and decided to share.
